I've already had my TB bypassed for a couple of months now w/out any problems if you reread my post above. I've been thinking about the IAC coolant bypass lately. Bypassing the coolant from TB and IAC will compliment the TB overbore I'm about to purchase.

Zip, please answer if you can:
I've never understood how the Idle Control Solenoid Valve "controls" the idle speed.(I'm not talking about the thermo valve.)
I've recently been trying to help (over the phone) my brother fix a fluctuating idle on his Civic. I've been studying the manuals and we've eliminated most possible causes, but I can't figure out this valve.
Solenoids are either on or off with no inbetween - not a variable change as implied by my Civic & Integra manuals.
I just noticed above the word "rotary" in one of your posted pictures. Is that how it works? A variable voltage signal to this "soleniod" rotates a valve to adjust air flow from full open to full closed and anywhere inbetween?

Yes, to my understanding the IAC basically operates like a fuel injector, the ECU maintains a specific duty cycle sent to the solenoid to maintain either fast idle or normal idle.
